DUDLEY, Mass. – Four members of the Nichols College men's lacrosse program scored their first collegiate goal in a 21-2 win over Mitchell College Thursday night in non-conference action at Vendetti Field.
Sophomore
Christian Baldino, along with freshmen
Xavier Hackett,
Vincenzo Kulturides, and
Lance Johnston, all found the back of the net for the first time. Junior
Nate Mortiner racked up four points (2-2-4) for the Bison (7-1), who also received four goals from graduate student
Reece O'Connor and three from freshman
Jeffrey Wenzel. All told, 16 Nichols student-athletes recorded at least one point in the contest.
Defensively, sophomore
Hugh O'Donnell caused three turnovers and collected five ground balls, as did sophomore
Pat Nally. Junior
Brian McKinley played the first half and stopped five shots to move to 7-1 on the season. Freshman
Griffin Jasin made his collegiate debut in the second half and recorded seven saves.
Freshman Jack Dalton scored twice for the Mariners (0-4), who were outshot 54-24.
All-Time Series
This afternoon's contest marked the ninth all-time meeting between Nichols College and Mitchell College. The Bison have now won the last five meetings and lead the series, 8-1. They have also outscored the Mariners 39-3 over the last two meetings.
