ORLANDO, Fla. – The Nichols College women's tennis team earned its sixth-straight victory with a 6-3 win over SUNY New Paltz on Sunday afternoon in Orlando, Fla.

The Bison improve to 17-2 overall and return to action on April 15 with a match at Connecticut College. New Paltz falls to 6-4 with the defeat.

Nichols took a 3-0 lead following doubles play as sophomores
Amarie Settiwongse and
Isabelle Leonardi teamed for an 8-3 victory over senior Brittany Grandville and graduate student Carol Tyson at No. 1 doubles. The sophomore duo of
Megan Nathanson and
Lindsey Kaplan followed with an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles over senior Emi Lewis and freshman Courtney Koran. Freshman
Juliana Herrera and sophomore
Rachel McDonald rounded out doubles play with an 8-5 win against freshman Jenna Grandville and junior Lindsay Haley at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, Settiwongse posted a 6-4, 6-1 win over Brittany Grandville at the top singles spot. Herrera added a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles over Lewis, while
Lindsey Kaplan rallied for a 3-6, 6-2, 10-8 win at No. 5 singles over Koran.

The Hawks were able to grab points with wins at No. 2, 3, and 6 singles, respectively.
