ORLANDO, Fla. – The Nichols College women's tennis team cruised past McDaniel College, 9-0, on Thursday afternoon at the IMG Academy in Orlando, Fla.
 
The Bison improve to 16-2 overall and wrap up their Florida trip on Sunday afternoon when they take on SUNY New Paltz at 3:30 p.m. McDaniel drops to 0-6 with the setback.
 
Nichols jumped out to an early 3-0 lead following doubles play as the Bison only allowed three points across the three doubles matches. Sophomores Megan Nathanson and Lindsey Kaplan teamed to post an 8-0 win over senior Laura Penhallegan and sophomore Brenna Gutshall at No. 2 doubles, while sophomore Rachel McDonald and freshman Juliana Herrera won by the matching score at No. 3 doubles over freshman Rohini Dhara and freshman Reaiah Rutherford.
 
Sophomores Amaria Settiwongse and Isabelle Leonardi added an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles over senior Maddy Simmons and senior Lindsay Russell.
 
The Bison cruised through singles play as Settiwongse, Nathanson, Leonardi, Herrera and sophomore Emily Houchin all posted 6-0, 6-0 wins in their respective matches. Senior Alanna Judd added a 6-1, 6-1 win over Lindsay Russell.
