The Nichols College women's ice hockey team tied Colby 1-1 in non-conference action Friday night at Levy Rink in Harrisville, Rhode Island.

The Mules (3-2-1) got on the board in the first period with a strike from senior Lucy Demback to put Colby up by a goal. Demback was assisted by sophomore Anna Cosentino and junior Moira Mullaney. The Mules went on the fend off a Bison power-play to end the first period up 1-0.

The Bison (7-2-2) would strike back at the 8:18 marker in the second period with an unassisted goal from senior Mikayla Castro after she was able to corral a Colby turnover to tie the game at a goal apiece. After the goal by Castro the Bison's stellar penalty kill would once again show as they killed off a Colby power-play mid-way through the third period and during the overtime as the Bison went on to ultimately tie the Mules.
 
Three things you need to know…
-Nichols goaltender Cassandra Goyette turned aside 43 shots in the game.
 -The Bison were outshot 44-17 despite the tie.
-The Bison's penalty-kill improves to 39-41 after killing off two more opportunities tonight.
