Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

No. 15 Bison skate past Gulls

Recap
Junior Vincent Crivello collected four points in Nichols College's 5-2 win over Endicott College Friday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's ice hockey action at Levy Rink.

Senior T.J. Roche added a pair of goals – including the game-winner in the second period – as the Bison remained unbeaten at 3-0-0 (3-0-0 CCC) on the season. Senior Matthew Menta and freshman Petr Miko also potted goals for Nichols, which entered the game ranked No. 15 in this week's d3hockey.com poll.

Menta's PP marker 6:29 into the contest came on a blast from the point. Roche's first marker of the season from the right point later in the frame deflected off a body on its way to the net. His second tally at 12:21 pushed the lead to 3-0 in the second before Crivello's breakaway marker 1:16 into the third extended the lead to 4-0.

Three things you need to know...
-Tonight's contest marked the seventh all-time meeting between the two schools. Nichols now leads the series, 4-3-0, and has won all four contests at Levy Rink.
-Making his second-consecutive start in net, freshman Brett Epp turned aside 21 shots to earn his second win of the season.
-Senior Josh Bowes and junior Luke Rodgers scored 20 seconds apart in the third for the Gulls (2-1-1, 2-1-0 CCC).

Quotes
"I thought we competed very hard. We were the first to a lot of pucks and receive contributions from everyone tonight. It wasn't just one guy." –Nichols head coach Parker Burgess.

"Vinny is pretty consistent for us game in and game out. When he is feeling it, he can be a pretty dynamic offensive player. He kind of put the boys on his back tonight and had a really nice game." – Burgess, on Crivello's four-point night
