No. 13 Nichols completes sweep of Wentworth

Junior Hogan Davidson scored a pair of goals in Nichols College's 4-0 shutout of Wentworth Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's ice hockey action at Allied Veterans Rink.
 
 Senior captain Matthew Menta and freshman Justin Perron also scored for the Bison (2-0-0, 2-0-0 CCC), who saw freshman netminder Brett Epp stop all 18 shots he faced to earn his first collegiate shutout. Nichols entered the weekend No. 13 in the d3hockey.com poll and received votes in the USCHO.com poll.
 
Perron's second collegiate goal in as many games 2:23 into the contest gave the Bison a 1-0 lead. Davidson's first late in the second period doubled the lead before third period tallies by Davidson at 1:20 and Menta on the PP at 4:03 sealed the win.

Three things you need to know...
-Tonight's contest marked the 43rd all-time meeting between Nichols and Wentworth. The Bison now lead the series, 23-18-2, and are 5-0-1 in the last six meetings.
-Freshman Petr Miko picked up a pair of assists and now has three points (1-2-3) through his first two collegiate games.
-Freshman netminder Thomas Draper recorded 23 saves for the Leopards (0-3-1, 0-2-0 CCC).
