Nicole Cowan recorded a goal and an assist as the Nichols College women's hockey team defeated King's College 3-0 in non-conference action Saturday afternoon at Levy Rink.
After a scoreless first period the Bison (7-2-1) were able to break the scoreless tie when freshman
Abby Lueken potted her second goal of the season. Sophomore
Jordyn McGuire and freshman
Katelyn Joyal recorded assist on the goal.
The third period brought two more goals for the Bison scored by Cowan and sophomore
McKenna Gernander. Seniors
Mikayla Castro, MacKenzie Lyons and sophomores
Kara Santoro and Cowan all collected assists in the third period. The Monarchs (1-9-0) were unable to beat freshman goalie
Stephanie Runciman who sent aside 23 shots.

Three things you need to know…
-Runciman notched her first collegiate win between the pipes in today's game, along with her first collegiate shutout.
-Today marked the third all-time meeting between the two programs. The Bison improve to 3-0-0.
-The Bison outshot the Monarchs 41-23.
