The Nichols College men's ice hockey team was defeated by the University of St. Thomas (MN) Saturday evening in the consolation game of the Wis.-Stevens Point Holiday Tournament at KB Willett Arena.

Henry Burns got the start in net for the Bison (5-3-0) and was pulled after allowing three goals on 10 shots. He was relieved by classmate
Matt Efros, who recorded 17 saves in relief. Four student-athletes recorded three shots on net for NC: senior

Curtis Carlson.

Ben Vikich, Luke Radetic, and Jack Christiensen each struck for goals during a 10-minute span in the first period for the Tommies (4-3-1).

Three things you need to know...
            -Tonight's contest marked the second all-time meeting between Nichols College and UST. Last season, the Bison defeated the Tommies 3-1 at the Boston Landing Collegiate Invitational at Warrior Ice Arena.
            -Nichols head coach
Parker Burgess spent five seasons as an assistant head coach at St. Thomas (2010-15) before arriving in Dudley in the fall of 2015.
            -Nichols was outshot 27-22 in the contest and each team went 0-for-2 on the power play. Â
