Senior
Cassandra Goyette turned aside 34 shots and recorded the shutout as the Nichols College women's ice hockey program defeated Becker College 4-0 Saturday night in Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) action at the Worcester Ice Center.
After a scoreless first period the Bison (5-2-1, 3-2-1 CHC) pulled ahead when sophomore
Jordyn McGuire potted her second goal of the season just a minute into the second period with help from freshman
Abby Lueken and senior
Mikayla Castro. Seven minutes later at the 8:24 marker freshman
Kara Santoro put the Bison up two goals over the Hawks (0-6-1, 0-3-1 CHC) with assists from seniors
Marg Reid and
Jensen Wurm.
In the third period senior
Kelly Ferreira was at it again potting her sixth goal of the year and her 10th point of the season to give the Bison the three-goal advantage. Sophomore
Mel McAleer and freshman
Katelyn Joyal both collected assists on Ferreiras goal. As time was running down sophomore
McKenna Gernander was able to collect her second goal of the year on the open net after collecting a pass from sophomore
Nicole Cowan as the Bison finished off the shutout.

-Tonight's shutout was Goyettes first of her career.
-Santoros goal was her first collegiate goal.
-This was the Bisons first shutout since defeating Endicott 2-0 on January 8, 2016.
