Recap
Senior captain Matthew Menta racked up a goal and an assist and sophomore Henry Burns turned aside all 26 shots he faced in Nichols College's 3-0 win over Becker College Thursday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at the DCU Center in Worcester, Mass.

Sophomore Nate Foster and freshman Petr Miko also scored for the Bison (4-1-0, 4-1-0 CCC), who outshot the Hawks 59-26 – including 23-10 in the third period. The loss dropped the Hawks to 0-6-1 (0-4-1 CCC). Foster's goal was the first of his collegiate career.

Following a scoreless first period, Foster staked the Bison to a 1-0 lead with at 7:18 of the second when his wrister from in close beat Becker netminder Grant Martens glove-side. Menta's goal late in the period doubled the lead as he knocked in a rebound off a shot from Crivello. Miko's third tally of the season in the third pushed the lead to 3-0.

Martens finished the night with 56 saves.

-The assist was the 50th of Menta's career.

Quote
"I thought we did enough to win. Burns played excellent and made some really good saves for us. Becker always plays us tough and had a good game plan. We need to take tomorrow to watch film, make adjustments, and be better Saturday." -Nichols head coach Parker Burgess
