Kelly Ferreira notched two goals as the Nichols College women's hockey program defeated SUNY Canton 3-1 in Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) action Saturday afternoon at Roos House in Canton, New York.
The Kangaroos (2-3-1, 2-2-0 CHC) took the one goal lead at the 19:30 marker in the first period when sophomore Ashley Gilles netted her second goal of the young season, with an assist from classmate Breanna Bedborough.
The Bison (4-2-0, 2-2-0 CHC) exploded for three goals in the second period to take the lead and solidify the victory. Sophomore
Mel McAleer tied the game at one before Ferreira potted a power play goal to give the Bison a 2-1 lead. Ferreira notched her second of the game and fifth of the year at the 19:50 mark in the second period to put the Bison up two goals. Sophomores

Emily Eagan all collected assists in the win.
