The Nichols College women's hockey program defeated Suffolk University 2-1 Saturday night in non-conference action in East Boston, Massachusetts.
Freshman
Abby Lueken scored her first collegiate goal in the second period to tie the game at one. Classmate
Alicia Hunks notched her first collegiate point when she assisted on Lueken's goal.
In the third, sophomore
Jordyn McGuire potted the game-winning goal after collecting a pass from classmate
McKenna Gernander to give the Bison a 2-1 lead.
Suffolk freshman Payton Dockus collected her first collegiate goal early in the second period with an assist from senior Tess Adams.

Three things you need to know…
-This is the first time since 2014-15 that the Bison open up the season 2-0-0.
-Senior goalie
Cassandra Goyette turned away 32 shots in the win.
-Despite the win, the Bison were outshot 33-24.
