Jayleen Fegan threw down 10 kills and senior
Sabrina Boermeester added 10 as the Nichols College women's volleyball team scored a 3-0 win over Fitchburg State Thursday night in non-conference action at the Nichols Athletic Center.

Megan Gardner filled the stat sheet with 21 assists, nine digs, four kills, and two block assists for the Bison (5-21), who won game one 25-20, game two 25-15, and game three 26-24. Nichols registered 18 service aces – including six from freshman
Lindsey Rugg and five from Fegan.

The Bison hit .310 in the first set as Fegan collected five kills and junior
Lexxus Andrews chipped in with three. Five kills each from Fegan and Boermeester in the second set helped NC grab a 2-0 lead.

Nichols fell behind 10-4 in the third set before rallying back to tie the match at 17, sparked by three service aces from Fegan. Later in the set, the Bison trailed 24-21 but knotted the score at 24 behind a kill form freshman
Shannon Anthony. Gardner put down a pass from Boermeester to make it 25-24, then Gardner set up Boermeester for the wining point to close the match.

Seniors Kristina Osborne and Nicole Sylvester, along with sophomore Lauren Riccardi, each racked up three kills for the Falcons.

Three things you need to know...
-The Bison's four home wins are a program-record. They also established a program-record tonight for kills in one season (655).
-Boermeester reached double-digits in kills for the fourth time this season while Fegan accomplished the feat for the seventh time.
-Nichols posted a season-best 34 assists at home in tonight's win.
