The Nichols College women's volleyball team was defeated by Salve Regina University 3-0 Wednesday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at the Nichols Athletic Center.

Sabrina Boermeester, along with freshmen
Jayleen Fegan and
Shannon Anthony, each recorded four kills to lead the Bison (4-17, 0-6 CCC). Freshman
Emily Tinyszin picked up two kills while freshman
Lindsey Rugg – making her collegiate debut – dished out seven assists.

The Seahawks (17-7, 4-2 CCC) rolled to a 25-8 win in game one behind five kills from freshman Nicole Karabaich. They scored a 25-18 win in game two as senior Paige Tully registered three kills before five kills form freshman Madison Lee in the third set gave SRU a 25-18 win.

Three things you need to know...
               -Tinyszin tied her career high in kills, which was set earlier this year against Mt. St. Mary (NY) on October 6.
               -Salve Regina posted a .330 hitting percentage for the match – including a .536 clip in the first set.

"We came out pretty sloppy in the first set, and in this conference, you can't get away with that. These teams are so strong and you have to bring your 'A' game every night. I felt we brought a little more fight and were more focused after that. We started to do some things well in the last two sets.
