Freshman Shannon Anthony picked up a career-high eight kills in Nichols College's 3-1 loss at Becker College Thursday night in non-conference action in Leicester, Mass.
 
Classmate Jayleen Fegan filled the stat sheet with 33 digs, six kills, four assists, and three service aces while junior Megan Gardner notched seven kills, 23 assists, and 12 digs for Nichols (4-15).
 
The Bison responded from a loss in game one (25-16) to score a 25-22 win in game two and tie the match at one. The Hawks (8-7) rallied back to win game three 25-20 before closing out the match with a 25-16 triumph in game four.
 
Becker was paced by junior Morgan Gould with nine kills and junior Sofia Cullina with eight.
 
Three things you need to know...
                - Senior Sabrina Boermeester racked up four kills in the second set for the Bison while Gardner picked up three and Fegan had two.
                -Nichols finished the match with eight service aces: three from both Fegan and Gardner, and two from freshman Sophie Czerepica.
                -Fegan's 36 service aces places her fourth in the Commonwealth Coast Conference.
