NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Nichols College women's soccer team fell to the Coast Guard Academy 4-0 in non-conference action Tuesday evening at the Coast Guard Soccer Field.

The Bears scored a pair of goals in the first half and added two more in the second half to earn the win. Freshman Sabrina Robertson (Jacksonville, Fla.), sophomore Lizzie Miller (Glen Rock, N.J.), and junior Kali Borden (Milford, Conn.) scored goals for CGA while the other goal was an own goal from the Bison.

The Bison were outshot on the game 17-3 – including 10-1 in the first half. Senior
Taylor Souza (New Bedford, Mass.) provided the only shot on goal for Nichols.

Brooke Downey (Middleboro, Mass.) – who was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Defensive Player of the Week earlier in the day – stopped five shots in the loss. Junior Rachel Boohar (Oxford, Pa.) earned the win with one save.

The win for the Bears snaps a 3-3-0 tie in the all-time series as Coast Guard has now won the last four meetings against the Bison.
