WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Nichols College women's volleyball team dropped matches to RIT and Gallaudet University Friday evening the Worthington Classic at the Gallaudet Field House.
RIT 3, Nichols 0 (9-25, 23-25, 23-25)
Sophomore
J'ena Baker (Rockledge, Fla.) notched 10 kills and a pair of blocks for the Bison, who saw the Tigers post a .524 hitting pct. in the opening set. Sophomore
Megan Gardner (South Deerfield, Mass.) posted six kills while classmate
Jayla Simmons (Rockledge, Fla.) picked up 13 assists to lead NC. Freshman
Haley Pichard (Hingham, Mass.) filled the stat sheet with 16 assists and three service aces.
Gallaudet 3, Nichols 0 (18-25, 12-25, 15-25)
Baker recorded 11 kills (.333 hitting pct.) to go along with nine digs. Gardner compiled four kills, Baker and Simmons combined for 17 digs, Pichard handed out 15 assists, and junior
Moriah Burns (Holland, Mass.) posted two kills and two digs.

This evening's matches marked the first-ever meeting for Nichols College with RIT and Gallaudet University. The Tigers and Bison lead the series, 1-0.
