DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College tennis team went a perfect 2-0 on Saturday afternoon, picking up an 8-1 win over Curry College in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play as well as a 9-0 victory against Salem State University in non-league action.

Rachel McDonald (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) registered an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles over freshman Sidara Cash-Sortwell (South Portland, Maine) and sophomore Alexis Mclea-Perry (Plymouth, Mass.). Sophomore

Kristina Domantas (Holden, Mass.) added an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles over sophomore Stephanie Leblanc (East Bridgewater, Mass.) and freshman Kelsie Merrill (Hope, Maine), with senior

Emily Houchin (Durham, Conn.) sweeping freshman April Miller (Newton, N.H.) and freshman Samantha Gilbert (Bedford, Mass.) at No. 3 doubles, 8-0.

In singles play, Herrera defeated Cash-Sortwell at the top singles spot, 6-0, 6-1. Kaplan defeated Perry at No. 2 singles by a matching score, while Romano used a 6-1, 6-1 score to beat Leblanc at No. 3 singles.
Kristina Domantas handed freshman Alison Daigle (Edgartown, Mass.) a 6-2, 6-1 setback at No .4 singles, and
Emily Houchin defeated junior Rosario Robidoux (Agawam, Mass.), 6-3, 6-0 at No. 5 singles.

Curry's lone point of the match came at the No. 6 singles position as Samantha Gilbert defeated sophomore
Rebecca Khachikian (Dennis, Mass.) 6-4, 7-6.

The Bison were able to make quick work of the Vikings in their other match of the day sweeping Salem State at the Robinson Tennis Courts.

Singles play was much of the same as Settiwongse cruised past Allaire in No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-0, and Nathanson used a straight-set 6-0, 6-0 win over Ann Spence at No. 2 singles. Leonardi added a 6-1, 6-0 win over Macdonald, and sophomore
Danielle Mandel (Fair Lawn, N.J.) posted a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles.
Amanda Costa beat Jackie Garvey, 6-4, 6-1 at No. 5 singles, while
Emily Sprague beat Liana Angelis, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.
