DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College women's tennis team saw 14 student-athletes come away with points on the day as it completed the sweep of its opening day doubleheader with 9-0 wins over Mount Ida and Franklin Pierce.
The Bison opened last season by dropping both ends of a doubleheader while going on to win 17 of their final 19 matches.
Sophomores
Lindsey Kaplan (Boca Raton, Fla.) and
Danielle Mandel (Fair Lawn, N.J.) paced the Bison with three wins on the day including doubles wins in the top flight against the Mustangs and at No. 3 doubles against the Ravens.
Six Bison came away with a pair of wins on the day including seniors
Ashley Dallaire (East Bridgewater, Mass.) and
Alanna Judd (Westborough, Mass.), junior
Kristina Domantas (Holden, Mass.), sophomores
Amarie Settiwongse (Bankok, Thailand) and
Isabelle Leonardi (North Hampton, N.H.), and freshman
Juliana Herrera (Villavicencio, Columbia).
Also coming away with wins on the day were freshman
Amanda Costa (Palmer, Mass.), sophomores
Emily Houchin (Durham, Conn.),
Rebecca Khachikian (Dennis, Mass.),
Rachel McDonald (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), and
Megan Nathanson (Scarborough, Maine), and senior
Tiffany Romano (South Windsor, Conn.).
