DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College men's tennis team defeated Emerson 7-2 in non-conference action Sunday afternoon at the Robinson Tennis Courts.

The Bison have now won 11-consecutive matches with their last loss coming to Babson back in mid-September.

Senior captains
Emma Carey (Venice, Fla.) and
Cristina Szepanski (Windsor Locks, Conn.) opened things up for the Bison as they won at No. 2 doubles 8-0 over Alex Weingarten and Rachel Scalera. The win for Szepanski ties her with freshman
Lindsey Kaplan (Boca Raton, Fla.) for the most doubles wins in a season in program history (21).

The Bison won No. 3 doubles by default to take a 2-0 lead, however, dropped the top flight doubles match with freshman
Amarie Settiwongse (Bangkok, Thailand) and junior
Ashley Dallaire (East Bridgewater, Mass.) falling to Sabrina Jacobs and Alisha Parikh, 8-6.

Nichols rolled through the singles matches – winning No. 6 singles by default and taking four of the other five. The only win for the Lions came at No. 4 singles as Weingarten was able to defeat Kaplan, 8-4.

Settiwongse won the top flight, 8-3, over Jacobs followed by freshman
Megan Nathanson (Scarborough, Maine) taking care of business at No. 2 singles over Parikh, 8-6.

Daniela Saldarriaga (Medellin, Colombia) won at No. 3 singles 8-4 over Scalera and freshman
Isabelle Leonardi (North Hampton, N.H.) defeated Jolin Cheng, 8-4, at No. 5 singles.

This was the first time the Bison and Lions have played each other since the 1995 season with Nichols now leading the all-time series, 3-0.
