MILTON, Mass. - The Nichols College baseball team swept Curry in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Sunday afternoon at Jack Valley Diamond.

The Bison took Game 1, 4-3, before turning around and winning Game 2, 7-0.

Senior
Adam Rigney (Niantic, Conn.) earned his team-leading fifth win of the season while junior
Kevin Kirley (Clinton, Mass.) picked up his fourth save of the year to help push the Bison into a three-way tie for second place in the CCC.

Nick Roy (Middletown, Conn.) drove in a pair of runs while scoring one of his own and freshman
Andrew Doll (Plantation, Fla.) had a pair of hits to go with a run and a RBI.

The Colonels were led by three players – seniors Alex McLean (Eliot, Maine) and Nick Crivello (Millville, Mass.) and sophomore Jack Kallinich (Madison, Conn.) – who all had a hit and a RBI.

Sophomore Matt Fogarty (Millis, Mass.) took the loss after pitching the complete game and allowing four runs on seven hits while striking out seven.

Vincent Amato (Brooklyn, N.Y.) pitched a complete-game shutout – only allowing six baserunners while striking out three.

Joe Assenza (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.), and freshman
Christian Naccari (Ossining, N.Y.) all had two hits while freshman
Kyle Bouchard (Fall River, Mass.) drove in a pair of runs while scoring another.

The Bison opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the second inning before adding two more in the fifth and three in the sixth.

Freshman Adam Duarte (East Providence, R.I.) had two of the Colonels four hits on the day.

McLean took the loss after allowing four runs (two earned) on nine hits through 4.2 innings of work.

This was the first sweep of the season series since the Bison did it in 2004. Nichols now leads the all-time series at, 34-22.
