DUDLEY, Mass. – Senior Matt Feigenblat (Shelton, Conn.) and freshman Cole Fontana (Grafton, Mass.) each scored three goals as the Nichols College men's lacrosse program knocked off Salem State 12-6 Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action at Vendetti Field.
 
Graduate student Reece O'Connor (North Grafton, Mass.) collected six points on a goal and five assists while junior MacKenzie Martin (Merrimack, N.H.) tallied a goal and four assists for the Bison, who are 3-0 for the first time since 1974.
 
Freshman Hunter Spencer (Beverly, Mass.) potted three goals for the Vikings, who also saw classmate Michael Trifone (Saugus, Mass.) netted a pair. Salem State was outshot by a slim 32-31 edge and went 0-for-4 with the extra man.
 
Nichols led 4-0 after one as O'Connor set up three goals, including the first markers of the season for seniors Paul Tessier (Mirror Lake, N.H.) and Christian Roca (Franklin Lakes, N.J.). O'Conner, Fontana, and Feigenblat scored goals in the second to help the Bison build a 7-2 halftime lead.
 
Fontana scored two of his goals in the third, which closed with NC holding an 11-4 lead. Trifone scored twice in the fourth for the Vikings.
 
Sophomore Brian McKinley (Nashua, N.H.) made 14 saves to move to 2-0 on the season.
 
All-Time Series
This afternoon's contest marked the eighth all-time meeting between Nichols College and Salem State. The Bison have won three of the last five meetings but still trail the series, 5-3.
