DUDLEY, Mass. – Senior
Matt Feigenblat (Shelton, Conn.) was one of four Nichols College student-athletes to score twice in a 12-4 win over Daniel Webster College Thursday afternoon in non-conference men's lacrosse action at Vendetti Field.
Senior
Tyler Sikich (Hermosa Beach, Calif.), junior
MacKenzie Martin (Merrimack, N.H.), and freshman
Cole Fontana (Grafton, Mass.) also netted two goals while graduate student
Reece O'Connor (North Grafton, Mass.) collected six points on a goal and five helpers. Nichols outshot the Eagles 49-16 and won 14-of-20 draws to earn their seventh win of the season – its highest total since 2012.
Sophomore Tanner Todd (Henderson, Nev.) scored twice for Daniel Webster, which also received goals from sophomore Gavin Abbott (Binghamton, N.Y.) and freshman Sean Donahue (Merrimack, N.H.).
Nichols scored seven times in the first quarter and never looked back. Feigenblat and Martin each struck for two goals while O'Connor notched five points (1-4-4). Fontana scored once in the second and again in the third to make it 11-2 after three.
Sophomore
Matt O'Connell (Woburn, Mass.) led all student-athletes with seven ground balls. Junior
James Keane (Franklin, Mass.) stopped six shots to move to 4-0 on the season. Senior
Kevin D'Angelo (Pelham, N.H.) won 11 of-13 face-offs.
All-Time Series
This afternoon's contest marks the 10th all-time meeting between Daniel Webster College and Nichols College. The Bison lead the series, 9-1, and have won the last five meetings.
