Reece O'Connor (North Grafton, Mass.) registered six points in Nichols College's 13-4 win at Wentworth Tuesday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's lacrosse action at Sweeney Field.
O'Conner scored a pair of goals and dished out a game-high four assists while senior
Matt Feigenblat (Shelton, Conn.) and juniors
MacKenzie Martin (Merrimack, N.H.) and Jack Zaremski (Dorchester, Mass.) each potted two goals. The Bison won 18 of 21 face-offs as senior
Kevin D'Angelo (Pelham, N.H.) won 14-of-15.
Senior Sean Farmer (Billerica, Mass.) paced the Leopards with four points (2-2-4) while junior Kevin Butler (Jefferson, Mass.) netted two goals. Wentworth held a 34-29 edge in shots.
Nichols led 4-1 after one period of play behind two goals from Martin. The Bison outscored the Leopards 5-0 in the second to take a 9-1 lead into halftime. Feigenblat scored twice in the frame while O'Connor registered a goal and two helpers.
Sikich scored the final goal of the third period to send the Bison into the final stanza leading 10-3. Nichols ripped off three of the four goals in the fourth, including markers from Zaremski and O'Connor.
Sophomore
Brian McKinley (Nashua, N.H.) made 19 saves for the Bison to move to 4-3 on the season. Classmate
Tyler Sikich (Hermosa Beach, Calif.) scooped up a game-high eight ground balls.
All-Time Series
Tonight's contest marked the 21st all-time meeting between Nichols College and Wentworth. The Bison have now won two-straight against the Leopards but trail the series, 15-6.
