DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College women's volleyball team was defeated by Wentworth 3-0 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Wednesday night at the Nichols Athletic Center.
The Leopards won game one 25-7, game two 25-17, and game three 25-13.
The Bison were led by sophomore
J'ena Baker (Rockledge, Fla.) with seven kills and nine digs. Junior
Moriah Burns (Holland, Mass.) posted three kills and five digs while sophomores
Lexxus Andrews (Uxbridge, Mass.) and
Megan Gardner (South Deerfield, Mass.), along with freshman
Tatyana Carrasquillo (Athol, Mass.), all posted two kills. Junior
Zoe Chevrette (Wilbraham, Mass.) – making her first collegiate start at home at setter – dished out 12 assists. Defensively, sophomore
Jayla Simmons (Rockledge, Fla.) notched 21 digs.
Junior Abigail Ahern (Barrington, N.H.) led a balanced Leopards attack with six kills while senior Caroline Shea (Abington, Mass.) picked up five. Junior Lille Clark (Vista, Calif.) and sophomore Lexie Cambray (Bedford, N.H.) combined for 26 digs.
All-Time Series
Tonight's contest marked the second all-time meeting between Wentworth and Nichols College. The Leopards now lead the series, 2-0.
