WORCESTER, Mass. – Sophomore
J'ena Baker (Rockledge, Fla.) tied her career-high with 24 kills as the Nichols College women's volleyball team defeated Fitchburg State before falling to Worcester State Friday night at the Worcester State Wellness Center.

In addition to her 24 kills, Baker notched 12 digs while classmate
Jayla Simmons (Rockledge, Fla.) led the Bison with 21 digs. Junior
Zoe Chevrette (Wilbraham, Mass.) established a career-high with 40 assists while sophomore
Megan Gardner (South Deerfield, Mass.) notched a career-high 10 digs to go with five digs.
Nichols posted a season-high .190 hitting percentage and hit at a .517 clip in the fourth and decisive set.
Worcester St. 3, Nichols 0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-18)
Baker led the Bison with nine kills while Gardner had three and Simmons picked up two. Simmons and Baker combined for 21 digs and Chevrette had 15 assists.

Tonight's match was the inaugural meeting between Worcester State and Nichols College. The Lancers lead the series, 1-0.
