DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College men's soccer team has earned the No. 7-seed in the upcoming Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament and will travel to No. 2-seed Gordon College on Saturday afternoon for a 3:00 p.m. matchup at The Quad in Wenham, Mass.

CCC CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL
Saturday marks the 46th meeting between the two squads and the Fighting Scots hold a 27-12-6 edge in the series including a 2-1 win over the Bison earlier this season in Dudley, Mass. The two teams entered the half tied at 1-1 before Gordon got a goal from sophomore Matt Chartier (Concord, N.H.) in the 83rd minute of play to slip past Nichols. There wasn't much offense in the game as Gordon held a slight 9-7 edge in shots in the game, despite holding a 13-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The Bison enter the CCC postseason for the 10th-straight season and are making their 19th tournament appearance overall in program history, while looking for their third CCC crown. Nichols went 3-6 in CCC contests this season, posting a crucial 2-1 win over the University of New England in the regular season finale on Tuesday afternoon. Senior

Patrick Porpora (Westminster, Mass.) stopped three shots in the win.
Gordon earned the No. 2-seed in the tournament by posting a 6-2-1 record in CCC matches this season. The Fighting Scots went 9-1-1 down the stretch, including a 6-1-1 mark in conference matches with wins over Wentworth, Western New England and a 0-0 draw with top-seeded Endicott. Gordon is looking for its sixth CCC Championship with their last coming in 2015.
The winner of Saturday's match advances to the CCC Semifinals on Tuesday, Oct. 31 and will take on the winner of the CCC Quarterfinal between No. 3-seed Western New England and No. 6-seed Roger Williams.
