DUDLEY, Mass. – For the second-straight season, the top-seeded Nichols College women's tennis team will host No. 2-seed Endicott College to determine the 2017 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Champion on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at the Robinson Tennis Courts.

The Bison and Gulls are meeting for the 28
th time in program history and the Gulls hold an 18-9 advantage in the series, however the Bison have won the last three matchups. This will be the sixth meeting between the two teams in the CCC Championship match, and Nichols snapped a four-match losing streak in the Championship round to Endicott with their 5-0 win in the 2016 CCC Final.
Nichols advanced to their seventh championship match with a 5-1 win over No.5-seed Eastern Nazarene College on Tuesday afternoon. The Bison took two-of-three doubles matches, while senior
Alanna Judd (Westborough, Mass.), freshman
Juliana Herrera (Villavicencio, Columbia), and sophomore
Megan Nathanson (Scarborough, Maine) won their singles matches to help the Bison move on.
The Gulls used a 5-2 victory over No. 3-seed Roger Williams University to move on to their 11
th CCC Championship match appearance, including seven-straight. Endicott posted wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to take an early lead before juniors Reilly Fitzgibbons (Killingworth, Conn.), Lauren Rahr (Waterford, Conn.) and Gillian Freter (Scituate, Mass.) each won their respective singles matchups to earn the 5-2 win.
The two teams previously met on September 7 with the Bison rallying for a 5-4 win over the Gulls at the Robinson Tennis Courts. After the Gulls took a 2-1 lead following doubles play, the Bison answered with four wins in singles play to complete the comeback.
The Bison are led by two-time CCC Player of the Year sophomore
Amarie Settiwongse (Bangkok, Thailand), who was also named to the All-CCC First Team in Singles and Doubles with classmate
Isabelle Leonardi (North Hampton, N.H.). Joining them on the All-Conference Team was sophomore
Megan Nathanson, who earned Second-Team All-CCC Singles honors, while freshman
Juliana Herrera, senior
Alanna Judd, and
Isabelle Leonardi were all named to the Third Team All-CCC Singles team. Nathanson and senior
Ashley Dallaire (East Bridgewater, Mass.) also earned a spot on the Second Team All-CCC Doubles squad.
Endicott is led by CCC Coach of the Year Jeremy Howard and 2017 CCC Rookie of the Year Gretta Hartman (Glastonbury, Conn.). Hartman and junior Hayley Barnett (Marlboro, N.J.) both earned spots on the All-CCC First Team Singles squad, while Reilly Fitzgibbons and Gillian Freter each earned spots on the Second Team. The doubles pair of Hartman and senior Maxine Bergstein (Hingham, Mass.) earned All-CCC First Team Doubles honors, while Barnett and Fitzgibbons were named to the Second Team.
The winner of Saturday's match will earn the CCC's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament which will be held in May of 2018.
