Brooke Downey (Middleboro, Mass.) stopped 20 shots, but the Bison fell to Roger Williams University, 2-0, in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's soccer matchup on Friday night in Bristol, R.I.
The Hawks received first-half goals from freshman Ali Waxgiser (Harding, N.J.) and junior Arianna Delli Carpini (Bedford Hills, N.Y.) in the win.
Roger Williams held a 31-0 edge in shots in the game and also took all eight corner kicks.
Downey's 20 saves were the seventh-best total in program history, and Downey's second-best save total in her career. The junior stopped 23 shots against Coast Guard on September 6, 2016.
