HARRISVILLE, R.I. – The Nichols College men's ice hockey team and Becker College played to a 4-4 tie Tuesday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at Levy Rink.

Freshmen
J.B. Baker (Columbia, Md.) and
Hogan Davidson (Duluth, Minn.) along with junior captain
Scott Cuthrell (Waterford, Mich.) scored a goal and assisted on another while sophomore
Ben Campbell (Duluth, Minn.) had a pair of assists.

The Hawks were led by sophomore Brandon Morgan (Rochester, N.Y.) with a pair of second period goals which were both assisted by junior James Wallace (Levittown, Pa.).

After a scoreless first period, the Bison scored the first two goals of the game less than a minute apart (13:57 & 14:42). Baker scored his team-leading 12th goal before senior
Sean Swansen (Salem, N.H.) scored on a power play moments later – assists by freshman
Vincent Crivello (Rosemere, Quebec) and Campbell.

The Hawks rallied back by scoring three in the second before adding another just a minute into the third period by senior Connor Merrick (Manchester, N.H.) to take a 4-2 lead.

The Bison trailed 4-3 after Davidson's goal and wouldn't even things up until 18:27Cuthrell was able to get the best of senior goaltender Tyler Stepke (Mars, Pa.). Sophomore
Ian Spencer (Hawthorne, N.J.) and Campbell were credited with assists on the goal.

Nichols edged Becker 40-35 in shots as both teams had three shots in the overtime period but were unable to score. Junior
Chris Deming (Madison, Ala.) had a game-high six shots while the Hawks were led by Merrick with five.

Colin Brennan (Chester, N.J.) had 31 saves while Stepke stopped 36 shots in the tie.

All-Time Series
Tonight's game marked the 27th all-time meeting between Nichols College and Becker College.

The Bison had won the previous five meetings with the Hawks including earlier this season, and still lead the all-time series at 16-9-2.
