Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

No. 12 Endicott powers past Nichols, 6-2

BEVERLY, Mass. – Freshmen Vincent Crivello (Rosemere, Quebec) and J.B. Baker (Columbia, Md.) scored goals for the Nichols College men's ice hockey team, which was defeated by No. 12 Endicott College 6-2 Thursday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.
 
Sophomore Blake Kelley (Woodbury, Minn.) collected a pair of assists for the Bison while junior goalie Colin Brennan (Chester, N.J.) made 30 saves. Nichols outshot the Gulls 44-36 but saw Endicott junior netminder Kevin Aldridge (Birmingham, Mich.) made 42 saves to earn his 11th win of the season.
 
Sophomore Josh Bowles (Edmonton, Alberta) scored two goals in the third period for EC while classmates Carter Horwitz (Tustin, Calif.), Ross Olsson (Billerica, Mass.), Cam Bleck (Lake Forest, Ill.), and Joseph Slovak (South Yarmouth, Mass.) each found the back of the net once.
 
The game was tied after 20 minutes on goals by Bleck at 7:40 and Crivello at 16:02. Nichols went up 2-1 in the second on a power-play goal by Baker at 8:37 before power play goals from Olsson and Horwitz less than six minutes apart gave the Gulls a 3-2 lead after two periods.
 
Bowles' sixth goal of the season 4:28 into the third period while short-handed extended the Endicott lead to 4-2. He added his second of the night at 12:57 of the third before Slovak's empty-netter at 18:06.

This evening's contest marked the fourth all-time meeting between Endicott College and Nichols College. The series is now tied, 2-2-0.
