Patrick Salkind (Springfield, Va.) stopped all 38 shots he faced in Nichols College's 4-0 win at Wentworth Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's ice hockey action at Allied Veterans Rink.
Junior
Chris Deming (Madison, Ala.) and freshman
Hogan Davidson (Duluth, Minn.) each recorded a goal and an assist for the Bison, and sophomore d-man
Ian Spencer (Hawthorne, N.J.) collected a pair of assists. Nichols was outshot 39-28 and went 1-for-5 on the power play.
Sophomore
Matthew Menta (Rome, Pa.) polished off a 2-on-1 with Spencer for the game's first goal 23 seconds into the contest. Deming's third of the season on the power play at 8:11 of the first off a feed from Davidson made it 2-0 after 20 minutes of play.
Hunter scored 1:32 into the third to extend the lead to 3-0, and Davidson's third of the season later in the third capped off the scoring. Salkind, meanwhile, turned aside 13 shots in both the first and second periods en route to his first collegiate shutout.
Wentworth netminder Kenny Graham (Milton, Mass.) made 25 saves and fell to 3-4-1.

Today's contest marked the 39th all-time meeting between Nichols College and Wentworth. The Bison have now won eight of the last nine meetings and are 9-1-1 in the last 11, giving them a 20-18-1 series lead.
