HENNIKER, N.H. – The Nichols College women's ice hockey team fell 2-1 to New England College in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) action Friday afternoon at Lee Clement Arena.

The Bison were outshot on the game 56-18 – including 22-6 in the third period. The Bison scored their first goal in four games at 11:40 of the third period when sophomore
Kirsten Sullivan (Arlington, Mass.) potted her first goal of the season.

The Pilgrims scored first on a power play at 8:25 of the first period. Sophomore Erica Lissner (Woburn, Mass.) scored the goal on assists from sophomore GinaBeth Mangianello (Peabody, Mass.) and classmate Alexa Scribner (Falmouth, Mass.).

With 8:20 remaining in the game, junior
Tori Wolter (Chandler, Ariz.) took a hard shot from the point, which bounced off NEC sophomore goaltender Ashley Castriotta (Framingham, Mass.) and was collected by Sullivan, who carried it to the left, and flicked it past Castriotta to tie the game. Freshman
Ashley Ljunggren (Shrewsbury, Mass.) was credited with the second helper on the goal.

At 17:09 NEC peppered the Bison with three shots before senior Rachel Vigliano (Monroe, N.J.) found a gap from the point for her second game-winning goal of the season.

Sophomore
Cassandra Goyette (Norton, Mass.) made 54 stops in the loss while Castriotta made 17 saves for the Pilgrims in the win.
