DUDLEY, Mass. – Freshman
Laura Lyons (New Milford, Conn.) scored her first collegiate goal in Nichols College's 3-2 loss to Gordon College in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) field hockey action Friday afternoon at Vendetti Field.

Sophomore
Lauren LeMay (Tyngsborough, Mass.) also scored for the Bison, who trailed 3-0 at halftime but outshot the Fighting Scots 9-3 over the final 35 minutes to get back into the contest.

Gordon opened the scoring on a goal by sophomore Rosalind Keeley (Winterport, Maine) 3:26 into the game. The Fighting Scots made it 2-0 on freshman Sabrina Jandreau's (Winslow, Maine) second of the season at 18:23 before a penalty stroke goal off the stick of junior Emily Allcroft (Haydensville, Mass.) extended the lead to 3-0 at 23:44.

Lyons got the Bison on the board at 61:27 with a goal off a rebound, and LeMay's knocked home a rebound off a defensive save to bring Nichols to within one.
Senior Shannon Hicks (Scarborough, Maine) recorded six saves for Gordon while freshman
Brooke Misbach (Guilford, Conn.) stopped five shots.

This afternoon's contest marked the 44th all-time meeting between Nichols College and Gordon College. The Fighting Scots have won the last seven meetings and now lead the series, 26-17-1.
