DUDLEY, Mass. – Freshman Jonathan Ingram (Belchertown, Mass.) potted his first two goals of his collegiate career as the Nichols College men's soccer team defeated Curry, 5-0, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Saturday afternoon at the Nichols Soccer Field.
 
The outshot the Colonels 22-15 for the game including 13-6 in the first half and saw goals from four different student-athletes.
 
Ingram got things started for the Bison at 6:16 when senior captain Tyler Brenner (Stuart, Fla.) crossed it in from the goalies six and it deflected off a Colonels defender before Ingram drove it in to the net.
 
At 21:09 junior Zach Pina (North Attleboro, Mass.) scored his second goal of the season to put the Bison up 2-0. Brenner earned his second assist of the game by playing it back to senior Ryan Banker (Ashaway, R.I.) who then found Pina who scored.
 
Ingram added one more before the end of the half when sophomore Zachary Lemire (Lowell, Mass.) stopped at the top of the 18 and left a pass for Ingram who one-timed it into the back of the net. The Bison led at the half, 3-0.
 
Nichols added to its lead at 61:31 when Curry was whistled for a foul that led to a free kick for the Bison. Sophomore Gregory Giglio (Deer Park, N.Y.) appeared to have kicked the ball before the Colonels were ready and was able to chip a shot over the goaltender to make the score 4-0.
 
Freshman Chris Noga (Belchertown, Mass.) capped the scoring for the game in the 76th minute. Senior Aaron Sinclair (Saco, Maine) took a free kick from Bison territory and it soared into the Colonels goal box where Noga took one touch and then fired it into the back of the net.
 
Junior Hunter Duval (Branford, Conn.) paced the Colonels with four shots while four other student-athletes had two shots. Noga produced a game-high five shots while Giglio had four and Banker added three.
 
Freshman Juan Carlos De La Cruz (Stamford, Conn.) earned his first collegiate victory after making five saves and pitching the shutout. Senior Dan Johnson (Easton, Conn.) was credited with the loss after making five saves and allowing three goals through the first half before being replaced by freshman Mike Russo-Penta (Malden, Mass.) who had two stops.

The Bison improve to 19-12-2 in the all-time series and are 5-0-1 in the last six meetings.
