FITCHBURG, Mass. – The Nichols College volleyball team blanked Fitchburg State College 3-0 in non-conference action Thursday night.
 
Freshman J'ena Baker (Rockledge, Fla.) led the attack with six kills while sophomore Sabrina Boermeester (Billerica, Mass.) chipped in with four. Freshman Jayla Simmons (Rockledge, Fla.) recorded a team-high 10 digs and Baker registered eight. Baker also dropped in five service aces and senior Monica Pucko (Gardner, Mass.) had two.
 
For the Falcons – who lost 25-20, 25-16, and 25-4 – Annie Woolley posted three kills. Three different student-athletes compiled 15 digs.

Tonight's matchup was the first-ever meeting between Nichols College and Fitchburg State College, a pair of first-year programs. The Bison now lead the series, 1-0.
