DUDLEY, Mass. – Nichols College freshman
Joshua Pierre-Charles (Millis, Mass.) has been named the New England Football Conference (NEFC) Offensive Player of the Week.
'JPC' rushed for a program-record 228 yards and two touchdowns in Friday's 22-7 win over Anna Maria at Vendetti Field. averaged 9.1 yards per rush and ripped off 12 rushes of 10-or-more yards, highlighted by a 26-yard scamper in the fourth quarter. He also scored on an 18-yard run up the gut in the third to stretch the Nichols lead to 22-7.
"Josh can do a lot of things. I wish I could have that Westfield State game back because I'd give him another 10 touches," said Nichols head coach
Dale Olmsted, who coached Pierre-Charles for one season at Millis. "We know the talent he possesses and the more he can do that, the more it's going to open up the passing game for our receivers. He is a very special player and we're lucky to have him."

Pierre-Charles leads the NEFC with 304 rushing yards and is tied for the lead with three rushing touchdowns. He is just 121 yards shy of surpassing last season's leading rusher.

This marks the second week in a row a member of the Nichols football program has been honored by the NEFC. Last week, senior captain
Matthew McEvilly (Clinton, Mass.) was named the conference's Defensive POW after registering a career-high 21 tackles against the Owls on September 2.
