Tonight's contest marked the 26th all-time meeting between Nichols College and Western New England University. Since winning the first four games of the series, the Golden Bears have now won 22 straight.

Senior Anthony Verville (Portland, Maine) scored two goals in Nichols College's 13-4 loss to No. 17 Western New England University Tuesday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at Golden Bear Stadium.
 
Senior Brian Hancock (Groton, Mass.) and junior Paul Tessier (Mirror Lake, N.H.) also scored for the Bison, who saw freshman Brian McKinley (Nashua, N.H.) turn aside 23 shots. Senior Jon Bota (Mahopac, N.Y.) scored four goals to lead the Golden Bears.
 
Inside the Game
-Western New England outshot the Bison 59-27 – including 17-4 in the second quarter.
-The Golden Bears caused 25 turnovers and were 18-of-20 on clears (90 percent).
 
On the Bison
-Sophomore Reece O'Connor (North Grafton, Mass.) picked up an assist, his fifth of the season.
-Hancock led the Bison with four ground balls.
 
About the Opponent
-Junior Justin Bard (Westfield, Mass.) collected six points on three goals and three assists.
-Senior David Cedrone (Yantic, Conn.) was a perfect 10-of-10 on face-offs.
-Bota was one of five WNE student-athletes to scoop up four ground balls.
