Today's contest marked the eighth all-time meeting between Anna Maria College and Nichols College. The Bison have won the last three meetings and hold a 6-2 lead in the series.

Sophomore MacKenzie Martin (Merrimack, N.H.) scored five goals to lead the Nichols College men's lacrosse team to a 16-6 win over Anna Maria College Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at AMCat Field. Seniors Brian Hancock (Groton, Mass.) and Antony Verville (Portland, Maine), along with freshman Brayden Carroll (Shrewsbury, Mass.), each scored twice as the Bison (1-1) earned their first win of the season. Freshman Zachary Bryant (Saco, Maine) netted three goals for the AMCats.
 
Inside the Game
-Nichols held a 54-19 edge in shots, 39 of which found the net.
-The Bison were a perfect 14-of-14 on clearing attempts, compared to 14-of-26 for the AMCats.
-Nichols won 19 of the game's 25 face-offs (76 percent).
-The Bison outscored the AMCats 6-0 in the second period and led 8-2 at halftime.

-Verville led the team with eight ground balls, followed by junior Kevin D'Angelo (Pelham, N.H.) with seven and Martin with five.
-Hancock and freshman Trevor Young (Warwick, N.Y.) each caused three turnovers to lead the team.
-Freshman Brian McKinley (Nashua, N.H.) made 10 saves to earn his first collegiate victory.
-Hancock and junior Matt Feigenblat (Shelton, Conn.) each fished out two assists.

-Senior Alex Rezendes (Nantucket, Mass.) recorded a goal and two assists.
-Freshman Paul Schwartz (Staten Island, N.Y.) made 23 saves.
