Today's contest marked the first-ever meeting between Pine Manor College and Nichols College. The Bison now lead the series, 1-0.
 
Quick Synopsis
Freshman Marcos Echevarria (Lynn, Mass.) poured in 25 points and junior Devin Stallings (Waterbury, Conn.) added a career-high 24 points to go with 10 boards as the Nichols College men's basketball team advanced to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship game with a 102-80 victory over Pane Manor College Saturday afternoon at Coffin Field House on the campus of Colby-Sawyer College.
 
Senior and CCC Player of the Year Irving Eggleston (East Lyme, Conn.) also recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds as the Bison win for the 16th time in 17 games and have now won a program-record 24 games. Sophomore Taverick Roberson (Pittsfield, Mass.) led the Gators with 25 points.
 
Inside the Game
-Nichols forced 20 turnovers which it converted into 18 points – nearly the final margin of victory.
-The Gators shot just 34 percent in the second half (12-of-35) and were outscored 54-37.
-Nichols held a 54-57 edge on the glass, led by Eggleston's 11 rebounds.
 
On the Bison
-Eggleston and Echevarria each handed out six assists.
-Echevarria was 6-of-12 from three-point land and the team was 14-of-40 (35 percent).
-The Bison knocked down 49 percent of their shots in the second half (21-of-43).
 
About the Opponent
-Sophomore Curtis Hymen (New Britain, Conn.) and freshman Ellis Reid (Hartford, Conn.) each snared 13 rebounds to lead the team.
-Ellis also dropped in 16 points while freshman Rasheed Bell (Boston, Mass.) was the third Gator in double-figures with 13 points.
