Today's contest marked the 45th all-time meeting between former Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) rivals Anna Maria College and Nichols College. The Bison snapped a three-game losing skid to the AMCats and now lead the series, 24-21.
 
Quick Synopsis
Senior Gustave Koumare (Harlem, N.Y.) scored a team-high 28 points in his final collegiate game to help the Nichols College men's basketball team capture the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship with a 105-96 win over Anna Maria Sunday afternoon at Coffin Field House.
 
Senior Irving Eggleston (East Lyme, Conn.) netted 25 points on 9-of-15 shooting while junior and Tournament MVP Devin Stallings (Waterford, Conn.) registered 16 points and six boards. Nichols ends its season with a program-record 25 wins against only four losses, and the team won 17 of its final 18 games. Senior Patrick Bradanese (Billerica, Mass.) led all scorers with 33 points for Anna Maria (15-13).
 
Inside the Game
-The AMCats outrebounded the Bison 51-32 – including 21-12 on the offensive glass.
-The Bison scored 42 points off of 22 Anna Maria turnovers.
-Nichols canned 49 percent of its shots (38-of-77) and made 18 of its 22 free throw attempts (82 percent).
-Anna Maria shot 47 percent (34-of-72) – including 12-of-25 from downtown (48 percent).
 
On the Bison
-Stallings averaged 20.0 ppg and 8.0 per game in wins over Pine Manor (Saturday) and Anna Maria.
-Eggleston finished his career with 1,273 points, which places him No. 12 all-time in program history. His 189 steals is No. 2 all-time.
-Koumare graduates as the program's all-time leader with 191 steals. He is also No. 5 in both assists (313) and free throw percentage (81.4 pct.), No 6 in three-point field goals (138), and No. 24 in scoring (1,027 points).
-Senior Christian Horton (Rutland, Mass.) finishes his career No. 4 in assists (327).
 
About the Opponent
-Bradanese also filled the stat sheet with seven rebounds and six assists, but also committed 12 turnovers.
-Senior Pedro Trindade (Billerica, Mass.) recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
