Today's game between Nichols College and Roger Williams University marked the 31st all-time meeting between the two schools. The Hawks extended their win streak to 29 and lead the series, 29-2.
 
Quick Synopsis
Junior Tyler Sikich (Hermosa Beach, Calif.) and sophomore Jack Zaremski (Dorchester, Mass.) each scored twice in Nichols College's 10-6 loss to Roger Williams University Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's lacrosse action at Vendetti Field.
 
Freshman Jack Campanale (Shrewsbury, Mass.) added a goal and an assist for the Bison, who were never able to recover from an earl 6-0 deficit. Freshman Chris Bova (Ridgefield, Conn.) scored three goals in the opening 19:52 for the Hawks, who were 19-of-20 on clears. Senior Nick Gagnon (Milton, Mass.) collected seven points (2-5-7) for the vistitors.
 
Nichols cut its deficit in half (6-3) in the second on goals from Campanale, Sikich, and Zaremski. In the third, Zaremski's man-up goal again brought Nichols to within three (7-4) before goals from Gagnon and junior AJ Core (Syosset, N.Y.) at 6:03 and 1:32 of the third, respectfully, pushed the RWU lead to 9-4 after 45 minutes.
 
Inside the Game
-The Hawks held a slim 39-37 edge in shots. The Bison outshot them 15-7 over the final 15 minutes.
-Nichols was 16-of-25 on clearing attempts (64 percent) and turned the ball over 21 times.
 
On the Bison
-Sophomore and leading goal scorer MacKenzie Martin (Merrimack, N.H.) – who entered the game with 17 goals – was held to one goal on three shots.
-Sikich and freshman Brian Davidson (New Milford, Conn.) each collected four ground ball to lead the field players for Nichols. Davidson also caused two turnovers.
-Freshman Brian McKinley (Nashua, N.H.) made 15 saves in net and saw his record evened at 2-2.
-Junior Kevin D'Angelo (Pelham, N.H.) entered the contest having won 72 percent of his face-offs this season, but was 9-of-19 on the afternoon (47 percent).
 
About the Opponent
-Bova and senior Caleb Kenney (Portland, Maine) each notched five ground balls to lead the Hawks.
-Senior Cam Donnelly (Medfield, Mass.) caused two turnovers.
