The Nichols College women's lacrosse team fell 15-7 to Transylvania University Monday afternoon in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The Pioneers got off to a fast start, taking a 13-4 lead at the break before holding on for the win.

The Pioneers outshot the Bison 39-20 on the afternoon including 23-12 in the first half in which Transylvania led by nine.

Quick Hits
- Following a goal by junior Olivia Morawski (Fairfield, Conn.) to cut the deficit to 5-4 at 22:30 of the first half, the Pioneers scored the final eight goals of the first half to lead 13-4 at the half.  
- Nichols senior captain Alexa Smith (Salem, N.H.) and junior Lindsay O'Connell (Danvers, Mass.) opened the scoring in the second half to pull the Bison to within seven.
- Zamrock scored less than two minutes later when she picked up the rebound off of her own shot and put it past sophomore goaltender Lindsay O'Connell (Danvers, Mass.).
- O'Connell finished the game with a pair of goals and a team-high five shots while junior Brooke Marion (South Hadley, Mass.) also had a pair of goals. Freshman Kirsten Sullivan (Arlington, Mass.) rounded out the scoring for the Bison as she had one goal on three shots.
- Junior Katherine Cotton (Kennebunk, Maine) stopped 10 shots in the game while her counterpart, senior Lydia Shaungessy (Louisville, Ky.) had 10 saves in the win.
