Today's contest marked the 28th all-time meeting between Eastern Nazarene and Nichols. The Lions have won the last five meeting but the Bison still lead the series, 22-16.
 
Three Stars of the Game
1) Eastern Nazarene senior Jordan Grays (Elk Grove, Calif.) – filled the stat sheet with eight points, nine rebounds, six assists, and two steals in 34 minutes
2) Nichols junior Taylor Daniels (Dudley, Mass.) – scored a game-high 22 points (8-of-10 FT) in 39 minutes
3) Eastern Nazarene junior BreAnna Fraser (Henderson, Nev.) – put up a team-high 15 points to go along with five rebounds
 
Quick Synopsis
The Lions overcame 25 turnovers to defeat the Bison 61-51 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Saturday afternoon. Fraser scored a team-high 15 points while senior jasmine Mata (Santa Barbara, Calif.) came off the bench to score 10 points. Nichols was led by Daniels' 22 points and 11 from freshman Amy Assad (Milton, Mass.).

Nichols was 11-of-21 from the free throw line (52 percent).
 
Turning Point
Assad's layup with 2:59 to go in the second half capped a 10-3 Bison run and tied the game at 47. She missed the and-1 free throw and Fraser knocked down a three at the other end of the court to give the Lions the lead at 50-47. Nichols turned the ball over on its next possession, which led to three more ENC points which pushed the lead to six (53-47) with 2:04 to go.
 
Quick Hits
-The Bison shot 40 percent in the second half to help them rally from a seven-point halftime deficit and tie the game late in the fourth. They finished the game at 32 percent (18-of-56) compared to 30 percent for Eastern Nazarene (19-of-63).
-Senior Krystal Holl (Smithburg, Md.) registered seven points, seven rebounds, four steals, and three assists for the Lions.
-Seniors Jessica Kelliher (Marshfield, Mass.) and Chelsey Mahoney (Dracut, Mass.) each appeared in their final home contest at Nichols. Kelliher finished with four points, six rebounds, and two dimes while Mahoney racked up five rebounds, three steals, and two assists.
-The Lions held a 49-41 edge on the glass, led by Grays' nine boards. Kelliher and Assad paced Nichols with six apiece.
