DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College women's basketball team was defeated by No. 16 University of New England 101-36 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Quarterfinal round Tuesday night at Harry Alfond Forum.
 
Senior captain Jessica Kelliher (Marshfield, Mass.) scored a team-high eight points in her final game for the eighth-seeded Bison (3-24). Freshman Amy Assad (Millis, Mass.) recorded six points and four rebounds off the bench for Nichols, which shot 26 percent and committed 30 turnovers.
 
Junior Alicia Brown (Greenland, N.H.) scored a game-high 25 points in 20 minutes for the Nor'easters (23-3) while sophomore Sam MacDonald (Lebanon, N.H.) scored 14 points and senior Meghan Gribbin (Windham, Mass.) dished out 12 assists to go along with nine points.
 
UNE led 32-4 after 10 minutes of action and 55-8 at halftime. It finished the contest shooting 55 percent (38-of-69) and forced 30 turnovers.
