Samantha DiReda (Shrewsbury, Mass.) kicked the scoring off with a PP goal at 6:45 of the first period with assists by senior captains
Julia Mastrototaro (Holden, Mass.) and
Alexa Smith (Salem, N.H.). The goal was DiReda's team-leading fourth goal of the season as well as team-leading second PP goal.
- The Beacons answered back just 2:58 later with a goal from sophomore Katie Jeter (Winthrop, Mass.) from the point. Karlis received credit for the helper.
- With the Bison looking to take a 1-1 game into the first intermission, the Beacons capitalized on a powerplay of their own when at 19:34 of the first period senior captain Alexa Cappione (Massena, N.Y.) potted her fifth goal of the season off assists from freshman Kaleigh Beauregard (Detroit, Mich.) and sophomore Maren Brown (Brainerd, Minn.). This proved to be the game-winning goal.
- Brown extended the lead for UMB at 11:13 of the second period with her third goal of the season. Junior Kat Armstrong (Boulder, Colo.) had the assist on the play.
- Currie scored her first goal of the game just 23 seconds later – and she scored the only goal of the third period – with assists from Karlis and Embrey on both goals.
- DiReda paced the Bison with four shots while freshman
Callie Jackson (Vineyard Haven, Mass.) had two shots.
- Embrey had a game-high eight shots to lead the way for the Beacons.
- Freshman
Cassandra Goyette (Norton, Mass.) stopped 44 shots in the loss while sophomore Rachel Myette (Pembroke, Mass.) had 10 saves in the win.
