J.B. Baker (Columbia, Md.) recorded a goal and two assists in Nichols College's 6-4 loss at the University of New England Thursday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's ice hockey action at Harry Alford Arena.

Scott Cuthrell (Waterford, Mich.) scored twice on the power play and also picked up an assist for the Bison while senior captain
Michael Parnell (Roseville, Minn.) notched a goal and an assist. Nichols outshot the Nor'easters 29-20.

Senior Trevor Fleurent (Biddeford, Maine) picked up a natural hat trick while his brother, sophomore Brady Fleurent (Biddeford, Maine), had the primary helper on each of them. Trevor also had two assists – one on the PP goal scored by Brady with 26 seconds to go in the third.

The Bison led 2-1 after 20 minutes behind goals from Baker and Cuthrell. Cuthrell's second goal of the night opened the scoring in the second before two goals from Trever Fleurent at 3:02 and 16:37, respectively, sent the game into the second intermission tied at three.

In the third, Trevor Fleurent's third goal put UNE up 4-3 at the 2:20 mark before Parnell's of the season at 8:34 knotted the game at four. Sophomore Armand Uomoleale (Westport, Conn.) netted the GWG on the power play at 16:56.

Colin Brennan (Chester, Pa.) made 14 saves for Nichols. Sophomore Connor Maloney (Woburn, Mass.) came on in relief and stopped 15 shots to earn the win for UNE.

Tonight's contest marked the first-ever meeting between Nichols College and the University of New England. The Nor'easters now lead the series, 1-0-0.
