WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore 
Matthew Menta (Lima, Pa.) was one of three Nichols College student-athletes to record two points in the Bison's 5-2 win at Western New England in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's ice hockey action Thursday night at Olympia Ice Center.
 
Junior 
Scott Cuthrell (Watertown, Pa.) and freshman 
J.B. Baker (Columbia, Md.) also racked up a goal and assist for the Bison, who have won 17 of their last 21 meetings (17-2-2) with the Golden Bears.
 
Cuthrell's fifth goal of the season at 5:30 into the opening period gave the Bison a 1-0 lead after one. He has now scored in four-straight games. Menta's second of the season early in the second doubled the visitors lead before junior 
Chris Deming (Madison, Ala.) potted his second of the year at 14:50 to make it 3-0. Sophomore 
Ben Campbell (Duluth, Minn.) netted his second of the year with two seconds remaining in the period gave Nichols a 4-0 lead after 40 minutes of action.
 
Sophomores Matt O'Dea (Orlando Park, Ill.) and Edmund Rogers (Creve Coeur, Mo.) scored for the Golden Bears at 12:06 and 19:15 of the third period, respectively, to cut their deficit to 4-2. Freshman 
Hogan Davidson (Duluth, Minn.) scored with two seconds remaining for Nichols.
 
Junior 
Colin Brennan (Chester, N.J.) improved to 4-1-0 with the win as he stopped 29 shots. Kevin Gollmer (Flourtown, Pa.) recorded 24 saves for the Golden Bears.
 
All-Time Series
Tonight's contest marked the 67
th all-time meeting between Nichols College and Western New England University. With the win, the Bison moved to 30-31-6 all-time against the Golden Bears.
