Maggie Noelk (Georgetown, Mass.) scored her first collegiate goal in Nichols College's 4-1 loss at Anna Maria College Thursday afternoon in non-conference field hockey action.
Sophomore
Courteney White (Orange, Mass.) was credited with an assist on Noelk's goal while senior goalie
Katherine Cotton (Kennebunk, Maine) made eight saves. Nichols was outshot 21-14.
Senior Kaitlyn Moran (Leicester, Mass.) collected a goal and two assists to pace the AMCats, who also received a goal and an assist from junior Nicole Denver (Springfield, Mass.).
Anna Maria struck for two goals in the first half as Moran registered an assist on the first marker at 12:11 and later scored at 21:28. Denver scored with less than 10 minutes remaining in the second half to make it 3-0 before Noelk's goal brought Nichols to within two with 1:46 to go. The AMCats tacked on a penalty stroke goal with seven ticks remaining on the clock to cap the scoring.

Today's contest marked the 37
th all-time meeting between Nichols College and Anna Maria College. The AMCats have won the last two meetings but the Bison have won six of the last eight overall and lead the series, 19-17-1.
