DUDLEY, Mass. – Nichols College junior Brian Camacho (Brooklyn, N.Y.) has been named the New England Football Conference (NEFC) Defensive Player of the Week.

Camacho recorded a pair of second-half interceptions to help the Bison secure their first conference win since 2012, a 24-14 triumph over Coast Guard Saturday afternoon at Vendetti Field. He also recorded four tackles to help Nichols earn its first-ever win of the Bears in four tries.

Camacho becomes the fifth Bison to be honored by the NEFC this season, joining senior Matthew McEvilly (Clinton, Mass.), and freshmen Chris Mullins (Centreville, Va.), Tony Martignoli (Santa Rosa, Calif.), and Joshua Pierre-Charles (Millis, Mass.).

The Bison (3-4, 1-3 NEFC) host Curry next Saturday at noon.
